Finance

The Parish Council submits a request for funding to the district council early in the new year. This is referred to as a precept and is the Parish Council’s share of the council tax. The precept is made up of next year’s expenditure, including an allowance for contingencies, payments to and from financial reserves and the inclusion of any income. In addition, the Council can apply for other funding such as grant awards for specific projects.

A full set of accounts can be obtained from the parish office.

Community Infrastructure Levy

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) allows local authorities in England and Wales to raise funds from developers undertaking new building projects in their area. The money can be used to fund a wide range of infrastructure that is needed as a result of development. SDC adopted CIL in February 2017 and it was implemented on the 1st April 2017.
