A419 Cowcombe Hill - Update to road closure

There will, however, be a short temporary closure from Tuesday 29th September to Friday 9th October 2026 while geotechnical testing and investigations are carried out.

Closure details:

• A419 Cowcombe Hill, from outside Lavender Bakehouse for approximately 500 metres southeast

• 29 September – 9 October 2026

• The closure is required for geotechnical works and will be signed locally

• An alternative route will be signed on site

• Pedestrian and emergency access may not be maintained during major excavations for safety reasons

The longer-term/main closure is therefore not expected until November 2027.
