Although not a statutory duty the Government encourages Parish Councils to consider what they might do to help in the event of an emergency such as serious weather conditions, flooding, or a major accident. Chalford Parish Council has prepared an Emergency Plan. This plan is not intended to take the place of the emergency services but to provide a framework for action in an emergency to co-ordinate community support, and assist the District Council and emergency services with local knowledge and support.
If you have any skills or equipment which might be useful in an emergency situation please let us know so that we can keep a record of these. Examples include: medical training, first aid, 4 wheel drive vehicles, tractors, chain saws etc.
