Cemetery

Frithwood Cemetery is located on The Frith, Brownshill. There is a limited number of burial plots remaining and only parishioners or those with a strong connection with the parish may be buried there. We can no longer take reservations for burial plots, however we continue to investigate securing additional cemetery land.

Cremation plots may be reserved by parishioners. They are 18 x 12 inches in size and only commemoration plaques of these dimensions (laid portrait) are allowed.

Please ensure that you ask if the cemetery is available before you book anything else, as we can only accommodate one funeral per day.

Records

A record of all graves, reservations and plaques is maintained at the Parish Centre and is available for viewing by the public, by prior arrangement, free of charge during office opening hours.

Vehicles

Undertakers and mourners will be permitted to drive into the cemetery for the purpose of the interment. The full Cemetery Rules and Regulations can be obtained from the Clerk at the Parish Centre, but are also available in PDF format. You can also view our Notice of Internment here.

Graves (7’ x 3’ plot)

£260 Grave interment
£260 Ashes in new grave
£210 Re-opening of grave (for burial or ashes)

NB: Chalford Parish Council no longer take reservations for graves. Cremation plots may be reserved.

Cremation plots (12” x 18”)

£210 Reservation fee for cremation plot
£170 Cremation plot – interment of ashes
£150 Re-opening of cremation plot

NB. Subject to availability, we can provide a cremation plot-digging service.

£60 for a single cremation plot

£70 for a double depth cremation plot

Alternatively, this can usually be arranged by the Funeral Director.

Memorials:

£170 Tablet (flat stone)
(NB. The tablet for a cremation plot must measure 12” x 18” and laid portrait, flush with the ground)

£170 Headstone for graves
£95 Additional inscription & replacement memorial

A drawing/image of all memorials must be submitted to Chalford Parish Council to be approved in writing.

NB. Frithwood Cemetery does not provide a grave-digging service. This is usually arranged by the Funeral Director.
